In Elk River, Oliver Pippin (Pepin) and Minerva Holt. They married In 1883, lived in Royalton, Morrison County, in 1900, but were in Elk River after that. Children were Oliver Jr, Mary, Henry, Dora and Sarah. Oliver was in the Fergus Falls Hospital in 1920, Mary is my ggmother. Sarah married Howard Church. Also In Elk River, Joseph L'Herault aka Lero m: Olive Heroux. 8 living children were; Abner Lero (m. Mary Pippin in 1909). Alagan and Joseph (both moved to MA), Aziel, Laura (married Horace Rand), Emma (m. Paul Cotea), Amelia (aka Millie, m. Jim Storm) and Olive (m. Frank Murray).

Christene Pederson, b.1872, married John Fredrickson in 1894, had four children,lived in Becker and died there in 1904. I will share family photos of the Pedersons, Fredricksons and Guri Gunderson Pederson. Gundersons owned land in Santiago Twp.

Researching Pierre (Peter) Vadnais and Mary Ann Houle Vadnais in Sherburne County 1840s-1900. Pierre and Mary Ann lived in Big Lake and Becker, and are said to have been the parents of the first white child born in Sherburne County. Pierre died in Forest City, Meeker County in 1877; Mary Ann died there in 1876.

Looking for August Johnson, in Princeton MN in 1920. An Oct. 1920 obituary for Margaret Katherina Johnson (born 11 Feb 1844 in Stöde, Vasternorrlands, Sweden and living with her daughter, Lydia C. Grund in Spokane at the time) states "She is survived by her husband, August JOHNSON in Princeton, MN and five stepsons and one step-daughter." The daughter was Anna Johnson (m: Roy Beasley in Oakland, CA). Believe two of the sons were Arvid and Charley. Could not find August Johnson in the 1920 Soundex for Mille Lacs or Sherburne counties. Any suggestions?

I am researching the families of Nels, Issac and John JOHNSON who emigrated from Malmo in southern Sweden from 1881-3. Also researching John W. THOMPSON born May 1858 in England, emigrated in 1877, and received land in Livonia Township via the Homestead Act. Adolph (1835) and Charlotta ANDERSON (1840) were born in Sweden and emigrated in 1892 with their daughter, Wilhelmina "Minnie" Elfredrika. John Thompson married Minnie Anderson in Sep 1895 in Sherburne Co. Their daughter, Florence Irene Thompson and John C. Johnson's son, Ernest Philip "Phil" Johnson are my grandparents.

Searching for cemetery where Calista Ryan MCCAULEY is buried in Sherburne County. She died in May, 1970 while a Sherburne County resident. Also, interested in an obit on Calista identifying her husband/children. Calista was born January 22, 1878 to Samuel Wyman RYAN and Harriet Jane JOSLIN Ryan. Some of her siblings were: Mary Belle Ryan married Edward SPOFFORD, Hannah Jane Ryan married Leslie AMY, Martha Cutler Ryan married Albert GARLAND. I know of one daughter born to Calista- Harriet McCauley on born March 30, 1911.

Researching SCHLEIF and SCHMIEGE. My ggrandfather John Schmiege born in 1898. His father was a Lutheran pastor, and German immigrant. John's second wife (I believe) was Lena, maiden name unknown. John had three sons- Malon, Howard, unknown, and one daughter Dolores. Would like to know about Lena's line. Dolores married Virgil M. Schleif and two children, Gladys Dolores Schleif and Bruce Virgil Schleif were born in Sherburne Co. Virgil M. was one of twelve children. Virgil and Dolores moved to Texas in the '50's, sometime before 1957.
